The ABC's of Estate Planning: C is for...

C is for CODICIL. Whether you want to make a slight change to your will – like adding the name of a new child or grandchild – or a major overhaul using trusts or tax planning, you do not need to do a brand new will each time you make a change. You can prepare a CODICIL to your will, which just changes a section or sections from the original will, and then “republishes” the original will, indicating it is still in effect and valid.
